Gibbs Farm

Situated in the village of Karatu, just a mile from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Gibbs Farm is a working coffee farm, one of the oldest in  the region. The farmhouse has barely changed since the property was built in 1929 and is warm and inviting.

The accommodation cottages are set on the working farm. Whilst the rooms are close together, blinds at the windows preserve your privacy. Each cottage is named for a theme which reflects a different aspect of Gibbs Farm.  These themes are continued in the paintings on the walls of each cottage. Each room has en suite facilities.

The dining room serves wholesome, fresh, home cooked meals and great pride is taken in what is grown and served. There is a cosy living room and reading corner with a fireplace to keep you warm on colder days – a great place to relax and unwind. On warmer days the veranda leads down to the formal gardens offering views of the valley, the coffee farm and the 10 acre organic fruit and vegetable farm that produces 90% of the produce used in the kitchens at Gibbs Farm.

There is always someone on hand to take you for a tour around the farm and walks and hikes can be arranged further a field for the more energetic guests.
