Kikoboga Tented Camp

Kikoboga Tented Camp is situated very close to the entrance gate to Mikumi National Park, making it very convenient to visit if you are travelling from the southern highlands to Dar es Saalam.

The accommodation is simple but functional in stone built Bandas, with each room having private facilities with flushing toilets, large beds, armchairs, ceiling fans and writing desks.  Each banda has a curved veranda overlooking the plains or the waterholes.

Meals at Kikoboga are taken in the raised dining banda or under the stars on the encircling terrace; there is also a BBQ area and an open fire. This platform makes a superb viewing terrace from which to see the game on the surrounding plains.

Kikoboga offers its guests wonderful views of the resident animal population. Nestled between the Uluguru and Rubeho mountains, this is a protected area of outstanding natural beauty. It is still possible to visit this park and not see another safari bus all day – but you will see a high concentration of game such as elephant, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, giraffe, sable antelope, zebra and buffalo.

In the southern area of the flood plain, in the Kikoboga area, you will find families of yellow baboon, hippos and many birds such as open billed storks. Over 300 species of birds have been listed as living in the park.
