Manyara Tree Lodge
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is situated in the heart of a mahogany forest, about 45 kilometres from the main gate and is the only Lodge situated within the park itself. Although tucked away in the forest, it is within easy reach of the soda lake, being situated just a kilometre from the shoreline.
The 8 large tented rooms, each with 2 queen size beds, are built on a wooden platform and have large netted windows and a veranda. The bathroom is off set from the main room and each has an outside shower. The furnishings of the rooms are light and airy, lending each room a classically elegant feeling. All rooms have mosquito nets and ceiling fans.
The main guest areas are also built around the existing trees with the upstairs lounge area containing pieces of art and photographic prints.
There is also an interactive kitchen where you can follow the progress of your chosen dish. You can even choose where to take your meal, in the outside dining area which is lit by hurricane lamps at night, on the dining deck or even on your own private veranda. The Lodge has been designed to exert a minimal impact on the surrounding environment which adds to the feeling of being ‘at one’ with nature.
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is ideally situated to explore the delights of this fascinating area. Game drives to view the famous ‘Big Five’ are of course available but why not try a birding safari or plan a lakeshore picnic and sundowner?
