Migration Camp

Situated in the northern central Serengeti overlooking the Grumeti River, Migration Camp is a small luxury camp located in a hidden valley. The camp is within a short drive of the Lobo airstrip and for this reason is often included in a flying safari itinerary.

Consisting of 20 tents, all comfortable furnished, the camp is orientated westwards towards the spectacular northern Serengeti sunsets. All overlook the Grumeti River with its resident hippos. The tents have either a king size or twin beds, leather armchairs and a writing table.  Each tent has en suite facilities with showers and double vanity units as well as a 360 degree veranda with rocking chairs on which to relax and survey the passing wildlife.

The high specification 2 storey central area features a split level lounge, cigar bar and the restaurant. The sundeck and swimming pool are set amongst the outcrops overlooking the guest tents down towards the Grumeti River and on towards the vast landscape of the Serengeti. A great place to relax!

Migration Camp is approximately 12 kilometres from the main game viewing area at Lobo and comes into its own during June and July when the migration normally passes through on its way north. At other times of year there is also a fair amount of resident game to view including lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and Cape buffalo.

The lodge itself is excellently placed in the corridor of the Serengeti that joins the central, Seronera region with the northern plains of Kenya and the Lamai Wedge in Tanzania. For this reason, the camp has very good local populations of cats such as leopard and lion on its doorstep.
