Located in Dar es Salaam’s town centre, the Southern Sun Hotel is just a 3 minute stroll to the local fish market, 5 minutes from the centre of town and right next door to the Botanical Gardens.

The 158 rooms have all the amenities you would expect from a city centre hotel, including satellite television, air conditioning and a pillow menu detailing the 5 types of pillow you can chose from. There are 3 grades of room, standard, executive and suites.

The Kivulini Restaurant is located on the mezzanine floor with views out over the swimming pool and the Botanical Gardens. There is also the Baraza Grill, Café and Bar which serves a fusion between Swahili and continental cuisine.

The hotel has an outdoor pool which, although small, is relatively quiet.

The staff are helpful and friendly and do all they can to assist you during your stay. This is an excellent choice for an overnight in Dar es Salaam on your way to or from your safari.
