Kiba Point has just four spacious cottages constructed of stone and thatch. These are built on raised platforms that overlook woodland and the river beyond. The fronts are completely open maximising your views, though heavy netting can be zipped closed at night if you wish. The cottages all have an en suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, powerful showers and flush toilets. Each cottage has its own plunge pool set into the edge of the deck.
It is not unusual for elephants and other animals to wander around the cottage both during the day and at night. The thrill being in close proximity to nature, while completely safe, makes Kiba Point a special experience.
The main mess has comfortable sofas and chairs and a restaurant with stunning views of the river. A large pool is located nearby.
Kiba Point is a great choice if you want some privacy and to ‘get away from it all’. You can do your own game drives and relax in your cottage. It is also great place to enjoy with family, a group of friends or just another, safari life doesn’t get much better than a few days here!
Kiba Point has its own small team of guides and staff, all of whom can help you plan your activities – choose from game drives in 4WD vehicles, walking safaris, fishing and boating safaris as you want and when you want.
A stay here gives you the opportunity for fabulous sightings of the Rufiji River’s residents, as well as lots of big mammals. It is a great place for birding too. You can also visit nearby Stieglers Gorge, Kidai Island, Hot Springs and Lake Tagalala.
