The 18 cottages, tucked amongst the trees, are each built from traditional materials in an African style and are basic but comfortable. The rooms have 4 poster beds with large mosquito nets and there is a sitting area as well.
The rooms have en suite facilities with a separate shower and bath and each room has a fireplace that the staff light each evening during the cooler times of year. Each room also has a balcony which overlooks the surrounding plantations. The Lodge also has a family room.
The Lodges restaurant and cocktail lounge each have a fireplace and are furnished in a comfortable and welcoming manner. The restaurants serve organically grown vegetables from their own gardens and the emphasis is on European cuisine with an African flair. There is also an outdoor eating area.
The small swimming pool is nestled into the hillside and there are many quiet places around the gardens to relax in.
Kigongoni Lodge has also developed The Sibusiso Foundation which helps improve the quality of life for mentally disabled children and their families. The Foundation is helped by the income generated by the Lodge and if you wish to visit the centre and see the work they do, this can be arranged for you.
