Kleins Tented Camp has 10 twin bedded cottages constructed of rock and thatch with polished wooden floors and classic neutral décor. All bathrooms are en suite with your shower water heated by ‘Tanganyika boilers’ – a roaring fire under the tank! All the cottages have verandas where you can sit and enjoy peace and quiet or partake in a sundowner after an exciting days game viewing.
The lantern-lit dining room overlooks the valley below whilst the lounge has a roaring fire and a well-stocked bar. Fresh vegetables from the camps own organic kitchen garden are regularly served to compliment the dishes that are a mixture of traditional and international cuisine. A good selection of reference books is also available to enable you to learn more about the surrounding flora and fauna. There is also a small swimming pool for guests use as well.
Due to its strategic position, with the Masai Mara National Park to the north and the Serengeti National Park to the west, Kleins Tented Camp is one of the best positioned reserves in Tanzania. There are breathtaking views of the valley through which hundreds of wildebeest and zebra pass during the migration. Other animals to see include lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and buffalo as well as many birds such as eagles, hawks and vultures.
There are 245 species of birds recorded at Kleins Tented Camp including pygmy falcons and pearl spotted owls. Learn more about natural Maasai medicine with a guided bush walk, or take a thrilling night game drive to see some of the nocturnal animals that make the Serengeti their home.
