Lemala Manyara

Lemala Manyara is a seasonal camp located inside the magnificent Manyara National Park between December and March, taking advantage of the seasonal game movement from the surrounding areas into the park at this time.

Located in a spectacular secluded location surrounded by fig and acacia trees with a backdrop of the towering Rift Valley Escarpment, the camp offers a safari experience in a traditional style, reminiscent of the golden safari era.

Lemala Manyara lies approximately an hour inside the park, near to the Endabash River, with each tent having its own view of Lake Manyara. Each tent faces the lake for beautiful sunsets and sunrises as well as being ideally placed for catching the breeze from the waters of the lake on those hotter days.

The area around the camp is often visited by a wide range of game including elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and even, sometimes, lion. They are attracted by the seasonal waterhole situated in front of the camp fire.

Guests are treated to bush breakfasts or lunches and sundowners in the evening by the camp fire.

There are 8 luxury tents, each with 2 large singles or a king size bed. The tents are appointed with warm duvets, wooden flooring with rugs, 24 hour solar lighting, en suite bathroom with dressing area, flush toilet and a safari shower. A family tent which can accommodate 2 adults and 2-3 children is also available.

The mess tent is beautifully furnished with grand sofas, lamps, wooden cabinets, chests and rugs. In the evening guests can gather around the campfire for sundowners before a dinner under chandeliers hosted by the camp manager.

This is an area of the park which sees very little traffic throughout the day and as it is centrally located guests can cover a wide game area. A variety of walks within the national park are also available on request as well as night game drives.

The birdlife in this part of the park is superb and you can even visit the hot springs easily from the camp.
