Each room at Ras Nungwi has mosquito-netted four poster beds, air-conditioning and electronic safes. The lodge rooms have a garden view, the chalet rooms have a sea view and the superior deluxe chalet rooms are the closest to the seafront and feature larger bathrooms, a CD player and a few other extras! Food at Ras Nungwi is taken very seriously. Where possible local organic products are used within the restaurant and the food is a mixture of local and international. The bar stocks a good range of South African wines and stays open late!
The hotel’s facilities are good, ranging from a fresh water swimming pool to a Spa, Should you feel energetic, there is a tennis court and the hotel also has an on-site water sports centre. Scuba diving, snorkelling, water-skiing and kayaking are all available here. A 15 minute walk will bring you to Nungwi village where you will find some restaurants and bars. The village is also home to a turtle sanctuary.
