Selous Serena Camp

Selous Serena Camp (formerly known as Wildlife Lodge) is set amidst the indigenous forest on a seasonal tributary of the Rufiji River. It can be reached by a 30 minute drive from Stiegler’s airstrip.

The camp consists of just 12 canvas sided tents, each of which is set on a wooden deck. The thatched grass roof adds a natural feel to the tent.

Each tent at Selous Serena Camp is furnished with rosewood furniture including a 4 poster bed, rugs, local textiles and crystal candeliers – very ‘Out of Africa’! The ensuite bathrooms, which are situated to the rear of the tents, feature a claw foot bath, shower and toilet. You can relax after your days game viewing on the wooden sun deck and enjoy the view over the surrounding bush. Some of the tents also overlook the water hole.

The central dining room, lounge, bar and library areas are also thatched and are connected by broad wooden walkways from which you can enjoy the view out over the reserve. The infinity pool and sundeck, overlooking the water hole, are set off to one side high above the lodge.

There is plenty to do at Selous Serena Camp, to include guided bushwalks, river cruises on the Rufiji River, fishing trips and evening game watching as the animals often walk past the camp on their way to drink at the waterhole.
