Stanley Kopje Tented Camp has just 8 tents in the camp and it is probably the most intimate camp in Mikumi National Park. Each of the tents is large with 2 double beds and is set on a platform around the rocks overlooking the flood plain. The en suite facilities include solar heated showers and flush toilets. Each tent is thatched and has lighting and a shady veranda on which to watch the world go by. Each tent has mosquito nets for guests’ protection.
The bar and restaurant are set on top of the kopjes (granite boulders) and enjoy 360 degree game viewing and panoramic views over the surrounding plains and waterhole.
Amongst the game you can expect to see in the surrounding park are Nyasa Blue wildebeest, buffalo, impala, zebra and giraffe. The open grassland also changes colour throughout the day so have your camera ready.
Stanley Kopje Tented Camp is closed for a short period in April during the rains (due to its location on a flood plain) but its sister camp. Vuma Hills, remains open.
