Swala Tented Camp

Swala Tented Camp is situated in an area of acacia woodland on the edge of the Gurusi Wetlands in the south western corner of Tarangire National Park. This picturesque safari hideaway affords guests excellent game viewing, with a hint of wilderness luxury.

Swala Tented Camp has 9 green safari tents set on a raised wooden platform with a canvas awing. Each tent looks across the woodland and is furnished in traditional safari style from local materials. Each has en suite facilities and an elevated terrace from which guests can view the waterhole that attracts game on a year round basis. Animals that often visit here are impala, waterbuck, lion and elephant.

The dining tent, offering a full silver service, specialises in Pan-African cuisine and has the air of a country house under canvas. It is situated in the middle of the guest tents. The lounge area is set on a raised wooden decking from which you can view the resident game. At the end of the day you will be escorted safely through the camp back to your own tent by a Maasai askaris.

The team at Swala Tented Camp have initiated a community conservation project in the local area. If you would like to know more about this project the camp will be happy to help.
