Tandala Tented Camp

The biggest attraction at Tandala Tented Camp in Ruaha is without a doubt the abundance of elephants that come and go, attracted by the watering holes.

You can enjoy the diversity of animals that frequent this area, such as warthog, giraffe, greater kudu, dikdik, mongoose, bushbuck, reedbuck and baboon, and every now and again, African hunting dogs make an appearance during the early mornings.

Tandala Tented Camp has ten spacious, elevated, luxury tents offering a variety of twin or double bed arrangements. Extra beds are available for children or to accommodate a third person. All lighting is provided by 24 hr solar and each tent stands at least eight meters away from the next ensuring absolute seclusion and privacy.

The en-suite bathroom at the back of each tent is enclosed in thatch and rockwork over looking the bush. Hot showers are provided by gas or solar electricity. At the front of each room is a sizable veranda with comfortable seating perfect for relaxing and watching for game along the Mdweka Sand River.

Askaris (guards) are present around the camp throughout the day and night and will escort you to and from your tent during the night and early mornings.

Tandala Tented Camp has a bar lounge area with generous colonial style leather sofas; here you can play a game of pool backgammon or cards.

There is a rock swimming pool underneath a giant baobab tree in which to relax and and enjoy the beauty of the African sun.
