The Tides Pangani

Recently voted as one of the world class beaches. The Tides has stylish yet simple beach cottages, with modern en suite facilities. With just seven cottages and one recent addition the Upepo Suite, the accommodation, offers a friendly intimate and relaxing atmosphere.

There is also a two bedroom family cottage making this the ideal choice for families with small children who want to be away from the masses. There is a swimming pool and bikes are available for hire to explore the local fishing villages and beaches.

This area is untouched by the mass tourism now associated with the island of Zanzibar. Steeped in history from a bygone era, The Tides remains a sleepy yet stunning retreat.

The restaurant and bar are located right on the beach where you can enjoy sundowners followed by a sumptuous dinner overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Getting to Pangani is now very easy with daily flight links from Serengeti and Arusha in the North and Dar es Salaam, Selous and Ruaha in the south. For those still not able to resist the lure of Zanzibar, Pangani and Zanzibar is easily combinable.

The Cultural Tourism Office offers guided historical walking tours of Pangani, with trained guides, which can be arranged by The Tides. River cruises up the Pangani River are also offered.

Other activities include boat trips to Maziwe Marine Reserve a fabulous marine conservation area excellent for snorkelling and diving. The island also has location for large amounts of coral exist and over 200 species of fish. The other inhabitants of these tropical waters are spinner dolphins and green turtles.
