Saadani National Park

Saadani is where river meets bush and sea.

It is an ecosystem that has fused together in a colourful clash found nowhere else on the east coast of Africa. Saadani is located north of Dar es Salaam and is a very unique natural environment. Whilst it does not hold the vast numbers of animals found in other natural parks, it is still a rare retreat and definitely a winning combination.

In this area lush mangrove meets the Indian Ocean and there are miles of sandy beach to walk up and down. Whilst not as white as the beaches of Zanzibar, the sea is clear and clean.

The Wami River is home to hippo and crocodile. Imagine lying in your bed listening to the waves gently breaking on the shore with the distant sound of lion in the background. Saadani is a remarkable park and one you should definitely include if you want to be far from the crowds in a truly relaxed environment.
